OUR STAFF ARE THE HEART OF AMA

Our employees are truly what make AMA so special. They’re passionate about our purpose—protecting what matters most—and share in our belief in treating members like friends and family. In fact, that’s one of the biggest reasons people choose to work at AMA: their hearts and values align with ours. It’s part of what makes our workplace so supportive.

We’re committed to offering growth opportunities, advancement avenues and benefits that help ensure employees’ well-being. We also want our teams to feel empowered to support the causes that stir their souls outside the walls of AMA. So, our Volunteer Day program offers them one paid day of leave each year to serve a local organization or charity. We’ve seen people use it to volunteer at animal rescues, the food bank, Habitat for Humanity, clothing drives, soup kitchens and more.

Employees are also encouraged to swap a regular shift to help at one of our member events, such as Shredding or Car Care. Plus, they have opportunities to contribute to AMA’s purpose-driven efforts around food security, climate good, childhood safety and more—all while getting paid.

“Our staff are passionate about giving back. Paid volunteer days give them the opportunity to be leaders in changing Alberta communities from the ground up, and to support the causes that tug on their hearts.”

Me Day
One paid day off per year for employees to take care of the things that matter to them

In 2022, we launched our hybrid and remote work model, ensuring flexibility for employees who need it. And we added a paid bereavement day for those who lose a beloved pet because we recognize that family comes in all shapes and sizes.

This year, we’re introducing a new platform to engage staff in supporting Canadian causes through donations and volunteering. It will help us mobilize on the issues our people care about and give them the power to improve their communities.
