We also want our teams to feel empowered to support the causes that stir their souls outside the walls of AMA. So, our <b>Volunteer Day<\/b> program offers them one paid day of leave each year to serve a local organization or charity. We\u2019ve seen people use it to volunteer at animal rescues, the food bank, Habitat for Humanity, clothing drives, soup kitchens and more.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-sjc-data-point large\"><div class=\"contain\"><div class=\"content\"><div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/amaimpactarch.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cleanup-e1674864625974.jpeg\"\/><\/div><div class=\"data\">3,345<\/div><div class=\"desc\">Average hours donated annually by AMA employees using their Volunteer Day<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block paragraph\"><div class=\"contain\"><p>Employees are also encouraged to swap a regular shift to help at one of our member events, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/ama.ab.ca\/events\/shredding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shredding<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/ama.ab.ca\/events\/car-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Car Care<\/a>. Plus, they have opportunities to contribute to AMA\u2019s purpose-driven efforts around food security, climate good, childhood safety and more\u2014all while getting paid.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block quote\"><div class=\"contain\"><div class=\"content\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/amaimpactarch.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/joanne-gibson.jpg\"\/><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"block paragraph\"><div class=\"contain\"><p><em>\u201cOur staff are passionate about giving back. And we added a paid bereavement day for those who lose a beloved pet because we recognize that family comes in all shapes and sizes.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block paragraph\"><div class=\"contain\"><p>This year, we\u2019re introducing a new platform to engage staff in supporting Canadian causes through donations and volunteering.
